BioPreferred Accomplishments for Fiscal Year 2018

In Fiscal Year 2018 (i.e. October 1, 2017 through September 30, 2018), USDA BioPreferred Program results include:

• 392 applications representing 578 individual products were awarded the USDA Certified Biobased Product Label
• 664 "qualified" products were added to the catalog - these are products in categories designated for federal purchasing and that meet the minimum biobased content for that category
• 173 companies began participating in the Program in FY 2018
• 12 new categories of products were designated for mandatory federal purchasing. These 12 categories represent biobased intermediates used in creating finished products
• Companies from 18 countries began participating in the BioPreferred Program
• Companies with the greatest number of USDA Certified Biobased Products:

  • Domtar
  • Eco-Products, Inc.
  • Seventh Generation, Inc.
  • The Clorox Company
• Top 5 U.S. States: Number of USDA Certified Biobased Products
